History
Ashmoor Hockey Club was founded in 2003 following the successful construction of a rubber crumb astro turf at South Dartmoor Community College.
It was founded as a senior club following much junior and indoor success under the current club name previously. The mens club started the 2003/4 season with a squad of 17 founding players, all keen to play local hockey rather than making long weekly journeys to either Exeter or Plymouth.
In the first season Ashmoor Mens managed to comfortably win the Gerrards WOE South West District 1 Hockey league with a very youthful but skillful squad.
The following season saw the emerging of a brand new second team squad after much youth talent came through the ranks to demand more regular weekly hockey.
